About
My name is D. Janki, and I am a clockmaker with a strong foundation in both traditional craftsmanship and hands-on experience.
I studied watch- and clockmaking in Schoonhoven in the Netherlands, where I completed the 4-year program in Horology (Uurwerktechniek). This training gave me a solid technical base in the repair, restoration, and maintenance of watches and clocks. To further deepen my skills, I continued my education at West Dean College, where I focus on traditional clockmaking skills.
Alongside my studies, I gained practical experience working with established clockmakers: Klokkenmaker De Jouster in Joure, and Jan Ubels in Bredevoort, in the Netherlands. During these periods, I worked on a wide range of clocks and watches, from everyday timepieces to valuable and historic examples.
I approach every timepiece with patience, care, and respect, with conservation in mind.
Services
I’m currently studying and looking to earn some extra income alongside my studies. Because of my passion for clocks and craftsmanship, I offer clock maintenance and repair services for people in the local area of Chichester.

Clock Repair & Maintenance
I provide repair and maintenance services for all mechanical clocks. Every clock is assessed individually to determine the most appropriate treatment.
Depending on the condition of the clock, work may include installing new bushings (bearings), polishing pivots, or making new parts when required.
All repairs are carried out with conservation in mind. This means using appropriate original materials wherever possible and avoiding unnecessary removal of material, so the clock retains its authenticity, character, and long-term integrity.
